Mobile division of the consumer electronics giant, Sony has teased the upcoming flagship smartphone with G-lens on the rear side.

The Japanese company has posted the teaser snapshot of the new Sony smartphone on all three popular social network platforms- Google +, Facebook and Twitter. The tag line reads - "Have we captured your attention yet...?" with a hash tag '#bestofsony'.

The picture focuses on the top right corner of the phone with camera having LED flash and letter 'G' to the camera's right side, all but confirming the existence of the rumoured camera-centric high-end handset Xperia Z1.

Going through the comments on the Sony Mobile social network websites, we can see that the Japanese company seems to have tasted its first success in terms of inciting excitement among Sony fans and photography enthusiasts alike before the launch of its phone.

One of the comments read, "omg...a G lens in a camera?! who needs DSLR when we have xperia? Hahaha".

G-Lens is an exclusive patented technology of Sony which is commonly seen in high-end DSLR cameras. It features wide aperture to absorb more light, in-focus sharpness as well as out-of-focus rendering which does not compromise on the picture quality on both the focused object and its background.

Apart from G-lens, Sony Xperia Z1's 20.7-megapixel camera is rumoured to boast of BIONZ image processor. It will have the ability to record stunning and crisp 4K (3840x2160p) quality video, more than twice the current full HD (1920x1080p) resolution standard. No other smartphone in the industry has such a high quality video recording capability.

According to reports, Sony's upcoming smartphone Xperia Z1 is said to sport 5.0-inch full HD Triluminos screen having 'X-Reality for mobiles' display technology, run on Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS and powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series quad-core processor which can top maximum CPU speed up to 2.2GHz.

Other mentionable features include water-proof and dust resistant IP55/IP58 certifications, NFC, Bluetooth v4.0 with EDR and LTE-Advanced data connectivity.

Sony Xperia Z1 is reportedly getting unveiled on 4 September in Berlin, just a couple of days ahead of the annual international electronics trade fair IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin) 2013, the very same day when Samsung is expected to pull the wraps off its flagship Galaxy Note 3 phablet and wearable device Galaxy Gear.
