Sonakshi Sinha, who is currently on a vacation in New York, has announced her next project and shared her first looks. The actress will be seen in Sunhil Sippy's directorial, "Noor," which will go on floors in July and is expected to be wrapped up by August.

In "Noor," Sonakshi will play a journalist named Noor Roy Chaudhary and it is based on writer Saba Imtiaz's 2014 novel, "Karachi, You're Killing Me." She has shared two looks from the movie. In one of the looks, she is seen in the typical journo avatar, wearing blue kurta with a scarf and a sling bag. And the other one shows her as the fun loving girl, wearing glasses and a cap.

Sonakshi didn't exclusively post the pictures, but shared an article of Mumbai Mirror, which revealed the first looks. The diva wrote: "Heres a lil pre-birthday surprise http://bit.ly/22w5Fg6 #IAmNoor @Abundantia_Ent @TSeries The bigger surprise comes tomo #LifeIsBeautiful."

The "Tevar" actress will be celebrating her 29th birthday on June 2, thus she treated her fans with a pre-birthday gift by sharing her looks from the film. The film will be produced by Bhushan Kumar and Vikram Malhotra. However, other supporting actors have not been cast yet.

"While the book - a coming-of-age story of a journalist named Ayesha Khan – is set in Karachi, 'Noor' will be based in Mumbai and has the eponymous Noor Roy Chaudhary, a 20-something journalist, at its centre," a source close to the development told Mumbai Mirror.

"It's a beautiful story that follows 'Noor' as she navigates relationships, career, aspirations, life choices, infatuations and body image issues. Every girl will relate to her," the source added. Fans will be curious to watch the film after going through the first looks.

Meanwhile, Sonakshi is busy with several projects. Two of her upcoming films, "Akira" and "Force 2," to be released this year, and she recently gave a nod to Shah Rukh Khan's production house's film, which is a remake of "Ittefaq" opposite Sidharth Mahotra. Also, Sonakshi will be seen in Vipul Shah's "Namastey England" opposite Akshay Kumar.
