The Telangana Gaddar Film Awards were held on March 19 in Hyderabad. Who's who from the Telugu industry graced the event, and unlike Bollywood's glamorous awards, the stars were dressed elegantly in ethnic and traditional outfits, embracing their roots. Most of the female actors were in sarees, and many looked surreal in gajra and sindoor, celebrating culture and tradition. From newlywed Rashmika Mandanna to power couple Sobhita Dhulipala and Naga Chaitanya, Ram Charan, among others, attended the ceremony.
Sobhita Dhulipala and Naga Chaitanya turned the red carpet into a fashion moment. The couple looked stylish; however, it was Sobhita who grabbed headlines with her new hairdo, a short, sleek bob cut. Her centre-parted bob, styled in a slicked-back finish, exuded boss-lady vibes.
Sobhita opted for a see-through ice-blue saree from the shelves of Sabyasachi. Her sheer tulle drape, delicately adorned with crystals, sequins and intricate beadwork, was styled classically with neat pleats and a flowing pallu. She wore a bralette-style blouse, flaunting her back and midriff. With her icy blouse and sheer saree, she added a bold edge to her look.
She kept her makeup minimal, opting for glowing skin, soft blush tones and a glossy lip, letting the outfit and hairstyle take centre stage.
On the other hand, Naga Chaitanya looked dapper yet sophisticated in an all-black ensemble. His look featured a tailored jacket with a bandhgala neckline and an asymmetric overlap detail, lending a modern spin to classic menswear. He paired it with straight-fit trousers and a matching shirt, creating a seamless monochrome look. A subtle silver brooch, neatly styled hair, a trimmed beard and polished black shoes completed the refined aesthetic.
Naga won an award for his performance in Thandel. He thanked his parents, Nagarjuna and Amala, as well as Sobhita, for always being by his side. Nagarjuna and his wife Amala, were also present at the ceremony.
However, netizens on X slammed Sobhita left, right and centre for her choice of outfit. Many called it inappropriate for the evening, as most attendees were dressed in traditional looks.
One user wrote, "Such a vulgar outfit."
Another said her hairstyle and outfit didn't match at all.
