Fans had been waiting for the next season of their favourite supernatural drama series "Sleepy Hollow" and it seems that Fox has decided to fulfil their wishes as the series has been renewed for a fourth season.
As reported by Den of Geek, Season 4 will pick up right after the incidents of Season 3 finale, in which Abbie (Nicole Beharie) had sacrificed her life to Pandora's box.
According to Ecumenical News, after Abbie's demise, Ichabod (Tom Mison) is left without a guide and Ezra (James McDaniel) might fill that role. Ezra had already confirmed in Season 3 finale that there were other Witnesses out there who shared the same bloodline as Abbie. Hence, he might take Abbie's position in the upcoming season.
The website has stated that Ezra has a vast knowledge of supernatural world and his experiences might prove useful for Ichabod on his quest to stop the supernatural forces from destroying the planet.
There is also a significant possibility that instead of Ezra, a novice will accompany Ichabod in the upcoming season and the roles will be reversed with Ichabod now serving as a mentor to the new Witness. However, no such official confirmation has been announced by the channel or the producers of the show.
Christian Today has reported that Ezra might already have a Witness in mind who might be Abbie's sister, Jenny (Lyndie Greenwood). Given her expertise with the workings of Witnesses and her knowledge of their responsibilities, Jenny can also be a perfect companion for Ichabod in Season 3 of "Sleepy Hollow."
Whether Ezra will be Ichabod's new Witness or Ichabod will be joined by someone else on his journey, will be seen once the fourth season airs. Though the exact date of Season 4 premiere has not yet been revealed, Fox has stated that it will air sometime next year.
