A fresh batch of spy shots of the Skoda Rapid facelift has emerged online, this time showing the interiors of the model. Czech automaker Skoda is expected to launch the new avatar of the Rapid in India during the festive season this year.

Skoda has been putting the facelifted avatar of the Rapid through testing on Indian roads for some time now. The latest set of spy shots of the Rapid facelift come from IndianAutosblog and the images show two prototypes of the sedan in two colours.

As far as the cabin of the Rapid facelift is concerned, while the colour-theme of the model remains unchanged, there seem to be quite a few upgrades on features like the infotainment system with Mirrorlink, automatic AC with dust & pollen filter, front centre armrest, rear AC vents and electrically adjustable OVRMs.

Coming to the exteriors, the Rapid in its new avatar is expected to come with new fog lights, projector head lamps and new front grille. Under the hood, the car is likely to remain untouched and will continue with 1.6 MPI petrol and 1.5 TDI diesel mills. While the 1.6 MPI petrol mill currently develops 103bhp and 153Nm of torque, the 1.5 TDI diesel mill will churn out the same power as the petrol unit with higher torque of 250Nm. The transmission in the petrol variant is taken care of by five-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmission and five-speed manual and seven-speed automatic transmissions in diesel models.

The Rapid, in its new avatar, is expected to be priced at about Rs 8.3 lakh. Skoda in July offered discounts of over Rs 1 lakh on purchase of the Rapid to clear the current stock.
