Ranveer Singh's Simmba (Simba) has taken the box office by storm and there's no stopping this riot at the domestic market. The Rohit Shetty directorial cop drama has received massive response from the audience and has done an extraordinary business especially in Mumbai.

In just 5 days of its release, Simmba has crossed Rs 100 crore mark and earned Rs 124.54 crore at the box office of which Rs 46.65 crore has been collected from Mumbai circuit alone.

"While #Simmba is a massive success, it's having a dream run in Mumbai circuit... Nears ₹ 50 cr mark in *5 days* in Mumbai circuit alone... An EXTRAORDINARY feat...
Fri 7.77 cr... Sat 9.11 cr... Sun 12.13 cr... Mon 8.16 cr... Tue 9.48 cr... Total: ₹ 46.65 cr. Mumbai circuit biz," Taran Adarsh tweeted.

Simmba ended the year 2018 on a great note and has started the new year 2019 with a big bang. The Monday (December 31, 2018) collections were more than Friday and thanks to the positive word of mouth, it collected Rs 28.19 crore on Tuesday (January 1, 2019) taking its total box office collections to Rs 124.54 crore.

This is Rohit Shetty's 8th film to cross Rs 100 crore mark after Golmaal 3, Golmaal Again, Singham, Singham Returns, Chennai Express, Dilwale and Bol Bachchan making the film distributors and producers laugh all the way to the bank.

Simmba stars Ranveer Singh as Sangram Bhalerao, a corrupt cop who develops conscience after a tragedy strucks a loved one. Sonu Sood, who plays the antagonist in the film, has exhibited his inner villain on screen impressively that he made audience hate his character in Simmba. Though Sara Ali Khan, has less screen time to showcase her acting prowess but she has managed to strike the chord with the audience with whatever she had on her plate.

The movie is now veering rapidly towards Rs 200 crore mark and should reach the coveted milestone till the second weekend. It has been released across 4020 screens in India.
