The two-day South Indian International Movie Awards event (SIIMA 2014) kicked off in a grand note on Friday at Stadium Negara in Kuala Lampur, Malaysia.

The day 1 event witnessed the presence of several Indian film celebrities. Big names including Chiranjeevi, Sridevi, Boney Kapoor, Khushboo, Lakshmi Manchu, Sudheer Babu, K. Raghavendra Rao, Huma Qureshi, Sachiin Joshi, Devi Sri Prasad, Rana Daggubati, Regina Cassandra, Charmee, Raj Tarun, Sandeep Kishan, Pranitha Subash and Adah Sharma among others attended the grand event.

Simbu, Sivakarthikeyan, Lakshmi Menon, Raai Laxmi, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Dileep, newly-married couple Vijay and Amala Paul, veteran actor Karthik, Isha Talwar, Parul Yadav, Nivin Pauly, Bhagyaraj and wife Poornima, Nirosha, Amulya and singer Vijay Yesudas were also present for the occasion.

Some of the clebrities including Devi Sri Prasad, Adah Sharma, Shriya Saran and Regina Cassandra rocked the stage with their fantastic performances.

The SIIMA 2014 winners from the Telugu film industry were announced during the event. Superstar Mahesh Babu has won the best actor award for his performance in 2013-blockbuster flick "Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu." The actor has beaten other popular stars including Pawan Kalyan, Ram Charan, Prabhas, Nithiin and Venkatesh to bag the coveted award.

Samantha won the best actress award for "Attarintiki Daredi", while Trivikram Srinivas bagged the best director award for the film.

SIIMA and Malaysian Ministry of Tourism and Culture has honoured megastar Chiranjeevi for his contribution towards Indian tourism.
