Veteran actor Kamal Haasan's elder daughter Shruti Hassan has been romantically linked with cricketer Suresh Raina.
The "D Day" actress is said to have been dating the Chennai Super Kings player for quite some time now. The couple have managed to keep the relationship under wraps till now.
But a Mumbai Mirror report has now stated that the celebs indeed share a special rapport. The celebs were reportedly introduced to each other by their common friends last year during a party. There were even murmurs of the two's equation back in May 2013.
It should be pointed that the actress has been a regular at the Indian Premiere League (IPL) matches cheering for Chennai Super Kings, which is also Raina's team. However, the actress was not spotted in this IPL season.
"Raina used to consider her (Shruti) his lucky mascot. This year, she has kept away from the cricket grounds. Yet Raina is playing extremely well. So the superstition has obviously ended. It is a mature relationship now and they are in love. But they are trying to keep it private and not speak about it in public," a source close to the couple told the daily.
The source further added that the celebs are in a steady relationship.
"Shruti and Raina try to meet as much as their busy schedules allow them, and are very serious about each other."
Even though, the actress and Raina are quite active on their respective social networking sites, the celebs haven't spoken up on their love life yet.
Shruti, who is presently on success streak with a line of Telugu blockbusters like, "Yevadu", "Race Gurram", "Balupu", "Gabbar Singh" had previously been in relationship with actor Siddharth of "Rang De Basanti" fame.
The cricketer too was linked with Congress leader Praful Patel's daughter Poorna at one point.
With Shruti and Raina's relationship is out, the celebs add to the list of actors dating sportsmen pairs. Presently, actress Anushka Sharma's romantic linkup with cricketer Virat Kohli has grabbed the maximum headlines. Recent reports have claimed that the actress spent some quality time with her boyfriend Kohli before she flew off to Barcelona on Thursday for the two month long "Dil Dhadakne Do" shoot.
Another cupid struck celeb pair is actress Tapasee Pannu and Danish badminton player Mathias Boe. Even though actress has refused to speak up on the relation and called the shuttler a friend, Boe seems to be quite open as he had referred the "Chashme Baddoor" actress as his girlfriend in a Twitter post. Pannu was even spotted cheering for the Olypmic silver medalist during a match last year.
