Bollywood action thriller "Shootout At Wadala" starring John Abraham, Kangana Ranuat and Anil Kapoor is going rock steady in the domestic box office.

The film, a sequel to 2007 hit "Shootout At Lokhandwala", has minted ₹35.15 crore in four days. Despite receiving an adult certification, the film's earnings continue to rise at both domestic and overseas box offices.

Directed by Sanjay Gupta, the film had raked in ₹4.88 crore at international centres in the opening weekend, collecting the most from the UAE followed by the US. On Monday alone, the film collected ₹4.45 crore at the Indian box office.

Announcing its collections on Monday, film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#ShootoutAtWadala passes the Monday test. Collects 4.45 cr."

"And the positive phase continues... SHOOTOUT AT WADALA, which marks the return of Sanjay Gupta after a hiatus, has been embraced warmly by the audience in India and Overseas," Bollywood Hungama reported him as saying.

"Of course, the response to the film is fantastic in Mumbai-Maharashtra, C.P. Berar and Nizam circuits, more than North or East India."

Inspired by Hussain Zaidi's book "Dongri to Dubai", "Shootout At Wadala" is based on Mumbai police's first registered encounter killing of gangster Manya Surve. Apart from John, Anil and Kangan, the film also has Tusshar Kapoor and Sonu Sood playing lead roles. It has an ensemble supporting cast that includes Jackie Shroff, Manoj Bajpai, Ronit Roy and Mahesh Manjrekar.

The film hit the screens on 3 May along with the release of "Bombay Talkies".
