In the midst of increasing UFO sightings in all nooks of the globe, it has been now learned that 200 years ago, former US president Thomas Jefferson was informed about a UFO sighting.

The mail which was reprinted in 2010 in The Papers of Thomas Jefferson: Retirement Series reveals that a tavern keeper in Portsmouth, Virginia, and his friend had informed the former president about an unidentified flying object they saw hovering in the skies.

As per the eyewitnesses, the object they saw was more like a meteor, but it had shapeshifting abilities. Eyewitnesses in their testimonial revealed that the object in the sky was more like a turtle. Shockingly, the UFO soon attained the shape of a human skeleton and descended quickly.

"We the subscribers most earnestly solicit, that your honour will give us your opinion on the following extraordinary phenomenon. We saw in the South a Ball of fire full as large as the sun at Meridian which was frequently obscured within the space of ten minutes by a smoke emitted from its own body, but ultimately retained its brilliance, and form during that period, but with apparent agitation," wrote the eyewitnesses in a letter written to the president, Express.co.uk reports

Even though this testimonial is considered the first ever recorded UFO sighting, it is still unclear whether Thomas Jefferson had responded to the witness statements or not.

A few days ago, a mysterious UFO was spotted in the skies of West Virginia. Interestingly, the object spotted in the sky looked very similar to the Mothman, a mythical entity popular in West Virginia folklore. As the Mothman video went viral, many conspiracy theorists strongly started arguing that alien life is a reality, and made it clear that the government is covering up the facts to avoid public panic.

Meanwhile, a few conspiracy theorists alleged that the object spotted in the video is actually a flying man. As per these theorists, the government has already built advanced individual flying machines to spy on confidential areas in the planet.
