There have been rumours suggesting that all is not well between Kajol and Karan Johar. In the wake of the upcoming box office clash between Shivaay and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (ADHM), it appears that things have turned sour between the long-time good friends.

A number of instances have appeared that hint at the rumoured growing differences between Kajol and KJo. Shivaay, which features Kajol's husband Ajay, is set to have a box office clash with Karan's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Kajol sad about not being part of Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

This clash has apparently created a rift between the actress and the filmmaker. First, Karan has roped in Alia Bhatt for a special appearance in ADHM. Kajol was believed to be his lucky charm as he had cast the Dilwale actress in most of his films; either in lead role or in a cameo. However, this time he chose to cast Alia for a guest appearance in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

And now, recent tweets by Kajol and the director further suggest that their friendship has suffered a crack. Karan took to Twitter on the occasion of 18th anniversary of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai that featured Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji.

Karan expressed gratitude to Shah Rukh and Aditya Chopra but never mentioned Kajol, though she is available on Twitter. "#18YearsOfKuchKuchHotaHai ... the film that will always remain close to my heart.... @iamsrk and Adi made my cinema dream come true [sic]," he tweeted on October 16.

On the other side, Kajol retweeted Johnny Lever's tweet on Kuch Kuch Hota Hai but did not respond to Karan's tweet. Again, Kajol tweeted about Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge's completion of 21 years but did not make any specific mention about KJo. Looks like the Shivaay and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil clash has badly affected an old friendship.
