Actress Shalin Zoya's second directorial short film "ZITA" (meaning young girl or seeker) has been garnering tremendous response from social media users ever since it was released March 8.

"ZITA - To seek" was released on the YouTube channel of Team Jango Space as an International Women's Day special. The 4:24-minute movie shows a woman's decision to travel and explore all alone and ends with the positive message: "Die with memories, not with dreams."

"These days, we see news about women getting raped or attacked. I wanted to bring out the some positive side of being a woman, and International Women's Day was the right time to release the movie as I would like to dedicate it to all women," the actress said in her interview with Manorama News.

Shalin has also expressed happiness at getting positive response from many viewers, including director VK Prakash, who even shared her directorial venture on his Facebook page. Other celebrities, like actress Miya and singer Sayanora Philip, have also cheered the 19-year-old actress for her second short film.

"Thank you soo much all my dear friends for the love. Masha Allah Getting positive response from all over, [sic]" the actress posted on her Facebook page after it was accepted well by viewers.

While Richard Antony has captured the visuals, Sanchu Tom has done the editing and Color grading of "ZITA." The other crew members are Shilpa Shivdas, Arun Prakash, RJ Thaara and Vivek Vinayaraj.

In July 2015, Shalin's debut short film — a horror thriller named "Revelation," starring Shanid Rahman and Akhileshan — had also been lauded by the audience, helping the actress make a mark in the industry as a director.

Shalin, who dreams to make a feature film soon, became a houshold name for playing the role of Deepa Rani in Asianet channel's popular serial "Autograph." She has also appeared in films like Mallu Singh," "Elsamma Enna Aankutty," "Manikiakkallu" and "Vishudhan."
