In a shocking revelation, it has come to fore that Shailene Woodley's part was cut from "Amazing Spiderman-2". Apparently, Woodley was roped in to play Spiderman/ Peter Parker staple love interest Mary Jane in the film and she even shot for three scenes in late February and March.

"Of course I'm bummed," Woodley told Entertainment Weekly, according to DailyMail.co.uk.  "But I am a firm believer in everything happening for a specific reason. Based on the proposed plot, I completely understand the need for holding off on introducing [Mary Jane] until the next film."

"Amazing Spider- Man2" stars Andrew Garfield as Peter Pan and Emma Stone plays his love interest Gwen Stacey.

Regarding leaving out Woodley, Webb told The Hollywood Reporter: "I made a creative decision to streamline the story and focus on Peter and Gwen and their relationship,"

"Shailene is an incredibly talented actress and while we only shot a few scenes with Mary Jane, we all love working with her," he added.

However, it seems very unlikely that Woodley will return to "Amazing Spiderman" franchise. Quite strangely, in spite of riding high on the success of "Divergent", comic book fans think that Woodley would not be able to do justice to Mary Jane's part.

Numerous fans took to Twitter to voice out their opinion about the move.

Woodley is currently prepping up for the release of romantic love story "The Fault in Our Stars" opposite Ansel Elgort.
