Remaking hit 90s' films is a growing trend thesedays and it seems Aamir Khan-Pooja Bhatt's "Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin", which was one of the biggest blockbusters of the era, may be next.

A lot has been said and written about it. While Pooja decided to rubbish the possibility of a remake, Mahesh Bhatt and Bhushan Kumar came across positive in their interview with Bollywood Hungama from a couple of years ago.

Earlier, there were conjectures that Emraan Hashmi had been finalised and that the makers were on the lookout for a leading lady, the recent buzz suggests Shahid Kapoor will be seen romancing Alia Bhatt in it.

Mohit Suri may be directing it, reported Absolute India News reported.

Since there has been no official announcement as yet, this can, at best, be considered a mere speculation.

In other news, when Pooja was once asked whom would she want in her and Aamir's shoes for "DHKMN", she responded saying Ranbir Kapoor and Alia.

The actress-director also said how it was impossible to recreate the magic this cult classic once did.

Interestingly, a former friend of the Bhatt camp told DNA India about how the family had plans of remaking it, but shelved it on realising it was a blatant rip-off of Frank Capra's "It Happened One Night".

"When DHKMN was made 24 years ago, laws about copyright infringement were very vague. Bollywood directors would happily rip off every film from Hollywood they could lay their eyes on. Now you can't get away with it. If you are caught copying, there's hell to pay," the insider further elaborated.
