The Khans of Bollywood – Shah Rukh, Salman, Aamir – have always been pitted against one another. From fame and fan base to box office collection and acting skills, they are fiercely judged every second. The latest yardstick being used to trigger the competition is – fitness.

Shah Rukh Khan's ripped body for "Happy New Year" created quite a buzz around the web. The still, from the film, was trending on Twitter within minutes of its release on Sunday. Having followed fierce fitness regime for almost a year, Shah Rukh's shirtless avatar has been received with rave reviews by both fans and critics.

Talking about his idea of fitness, the actor said good food and regular exercise is what matters eventually.

"The guy who has done it is Prashant from Body Sculptor. My idea of fitness is that you have to be regularly fit. If at any given time if I am called to show my body, I take a month of training to get into this shape. But you are basically fit, if you are fit with your food and do just half an hour of exercises everyday," he told The Times of India.

Salman Khan, who is the original brawn boy of Bollywood, has always been fit and ready to go shirtless. However, his latest blockbuster "Kick" was a dampener as the superstar didn't go bare-chested. But, in a recent interview he promised to drop the shirt for his next film "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo".

"I was training very hard for Kick. The advantage of Kick was that as soon as I finished the climax of "Jai Ho", I dived straight into this film and it got over in three and a half to four months. As soon as I left the training, I realised "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" has the same kind of fitness level, it has me bare chested, I am doing some sword fencing, so I just got a two-week break and now am back on to that training again," Khan told Bollywood Life.

While, both the stars bulk up right before they have a film coming up, Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan sculpts his body bit by bit. "Ghajini", "Dhoom 3" and the upcoming "PK" has allowed the actor to flaunt his chiselled contours. Reportedly, for Rajkumar Hirani's "PK", the superstar had to train for over a year.

"Actor Aamir Khan has been working out for more than a year-and-a-half to get that toned body. He observed a strict diet and even swam for hours regularly to tone his muscles," Hindustan Times quoted a source. And, it has paid off quite well.

While Salman's a pro at flaunting sculpted abs, it remains to be seen if Shah Rukh and Aamir can pull it off with as much elanélan.
