Small-screen actors often dream of being a part of Bollywood. Several TV actors try their hand at this, but while some make it big in the Hindi film industry, others perish in the oblivion.

Here is a look at TV actors who made the most of their ticket to Bollywood.

Shah Rukh Khan

King Khan, a former TV actor, stepped into Bollywood and then there was no looking back. He started his career with TV soap opera "Dil Darya" but was noticed in "Fauji". Shah Rukh Khan's debut film "Deewana" was a box-office hit and the star has ruled the film industry for over two decades.

Vidya Balan

Vidya Balan played the specky-geek Radhika in Balaji's hit comedy serial "Hum Paanch" and went on to debut with Hindi film "Parineeta" years later. The actress has come a long way and now she is considered as one of the best actresses in Bollywood.

Sushant Singh Rajput

Rajput, who tasted fame as Manav for his role in TV serial "Pavitra Rishta", is another actor who made it to Bollywood. Rajput was recently seen playing a crucial role in Abhishek Kapoor's "Kai Po Che" along with Rajkumar Yadav and Amit Sadh who are also TV actors. Last year, he acted in "Shuddh Desi Romance" and will be seen next with Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma in "PK".

Yami Gautam

Yami Gautam made her debut in the Hindi film industry with "Vicky Donor" and then acted in "Action Jackson". The actress has done numerous commercials and TV serials like "Chand Ke Paar Chalo" and "Yeh Pyar Na Hoga Kam".

Ayushmann Khurrana

Versatile actor-singer Ayushmann Khurrana too made his blockbuster debut with "Vicky Donor", winning appreciation for his acting as well as singing. Last year he worked in Rohit Sippy's "Nautanki Saala" and this year in "Bewakoofiyaan". Earlier, he ventured into TV anchoring after winning the "MTV Roadies Season 2" in 2004.

Karan Singh Grover
