Pawan Kalyan's Telugu film "Attarintiki Daaredi" was a massive hit at the box office. Following the grand success of the film, there are speculations about the remake in other languages.

Buzz was that Tamil actor Vijay was in consideration to reprise Pawan's role in Tamil, while "Happy New Year" star Shah Rukh Khan will be doing the Hindi remake.

Although rumours about the Tamil remake have halted, speculations on the Hindi remake have continued to grow for the last few months. Recent reports claimed that Shah Rukh Khan is keen to star in "Attarintiki Daaredi" remake and he has also approached the film's producer to get the remake rights.

However, in a recent interview to a leading daily, SRK has denied doing the Hindi remake of "Attarintiki Daaredi," reported 123telugu. As of now, only the Kannada remake of "Attarintiki Daaredi" is confirmed with Sudeep playing the lead role.

Bollywood remakes of hit South films are the latest trend with popular actors including Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar taking up such projects. Salman has been part of several South remakes including "Ready," Bodyguard" and "Kick." Akshay's "Rowdy Rathore" and "Holiday" are also remakes of South films. At a time when these big Bollywood stars are keen on remaking popular South projects, SRK doesn't seem to be interested in doing so.

The actor is basking in the stupendous success of his recently-released film "Happy New Year", which is raking in record collections at the box office. The film has surpassed the ₹100 crore mark in just three days at the domestic box office.

While the Hindi version of the film has collected ₹104 crore, the Telugu and Tamil versions have earned ₹2.9 and ₹1.8 crore, respectively.

"#HappyNewYear opening weekend biz: Hindi - 104.10 cr, Telugu - 2.92 cr, Tamil - 1.84 cr. Grand total: ₹ 108.86 cr. India biz," tweeted film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

While the SRK starrer is having fantastic run in northern circuits and overseas markets, the film's collections seem to have been affected in key south markets like Tamil Nadu and Kerala where Tamil actor Vijay's "Kaththi" is dominating the screens.

Directed by Farah Khan, "Happy New Year" is a heist drama with SRK, Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani and Vivan Shah playing pivotal roles.
