Karan Johar's big announcement about Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt working together in Gauri Shinde's next has made fans of both the celebrities curious.

A lot has already been reported about the flick, but a Mumbai Mirror report sheds light on what the storyline could be.

An insider reportedly said that the possibility of SRK romancing the "Shaandaar" actress is out of question as the superstar is too old to play her lover, adding how it's the story of a young girl who meets three men and with every new relationship her perspective on life changes.

So, will SRK be one of the three men Alia will romantically be involved with in the flick? But, the popular daily's source said the two won't be cast opposite each other.

"It's a different, beautiful story about love. You cannot call it a love story, because Shah Rukh and Alia are not opposite each other. Shah Rukh is too old to be Alia's lover," the insider further elaborated.

A few months ago, it was reported how Gauri was pursuing Katrina Kaif to go de-glam for the role. The "Phantom" star apparently loved the script, but nothing concrete was ever established.

"Shah Rukh liked the script and gave his nod to 'English Vinglish' director for the lead hero role. The film will go on floors next year," Mid-Day quoted a source as saying.

Karan's posts on social media indicated he was thrilled about the association, while Alia's joy knew no bounds.

"Will no longer have any problem with my English Vinglish.. can't wait to be directed by Gauri Shinde with the man himself Shahrukh Khan!!!," she tweeted.
