Shah Rukh Hasn't Locked Me, I Would Love to Work with Salman: Deepika PadukoneReuters

The wonder woman of Bollywood, Deepika Padukone, said she would love to work with Salman Khan.

Even after the much-hyped Iftar party hug and words of praises for each other on public platforms, looks like Salman and Shah Rukh Khan will have to deal with the unnecessary competition that pits them against one another.

Shah Rukh, who was responsible for "Happy New Year" actress' grand launch into the Hindi film fraternity, is being paired with her for the third time. And so, apparently there is a buzz that working with the other Khan will not be possible.

Rubbishing the rumours, Padukone reportedly said that the "Chennai Express" actor hasn't locked her up or restricted her from making any career choices and so if a film with Salman comes to her, she would most definitely take it up.

"We've been offered many films in the past. The first movie that was proposed to me was alongside Salman. At that point, I wasn't ready. I wasn't even an actor then. Unfortunately, every film that we have tried to associate in after that, hasn't worked out for different reasons. Salman and I aren't going anywhere. I am sure there will be more opportunities," Hindustan Times quoted the actress.

Padukone had rejected "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo", which eventually went to Sonam Kapoor, and she also turned down an item number in "Kick", according to reports. From what the actress says, looks like her tight packed schedule was a major reason why she had to reject offers with the superstar.

However, in her interview, Padukone elaborated on her bonding with Shah Rukh and said, "he was the same. Although we have done three films together, including 'Happy New Year', I feel that 'Chennai Express' (2013) was a very special film for us. In many ways, that film brought us even closer than our first film together."

The actress will be next seen in Imtiaz Ali's "Tamaasha" opposite ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor.
