Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan - the two biggest stars in Bollywood - have never shared screen space together, not even for a cameo.

If latest reports are to be believed, the two actors could soon be seen in a theme song for the upcoming movie "Bombay Talkies".

"Bombay Talkies" is a movie being made to mark 100 years of Indian cinema. The film is a combination of four short stories directed by Zoya Akhtar, Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyap and Dibakar Banerjee.

The film will have one common song that will feature leading stars from Bollywood including Kareena Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Varun Dhawan, Priyanka Chopra, Sidharth Malhotra, Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone.

Apparently, Aamir Khan has shot his portions for the song. The movie's crew is now waiting for Shah Rukh to complete his part. "It would have been great to have SRK and Aamir shoot simultaneously. But since their busy schedules didn't allow that to happen, now we are waiting for Shah Rukh to can his portion separately," a leading daily quoted a unit member as saying.

The female actors will appear wearing golden-coloured costumes, while the male stars' dress code will be a tuxedo in the song.

The first theatrical trailer of "Bombay Talkies", which was launched last month, has already created a lot of buzz among moviegoers. There are reports suggesting that legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan will play himself in Anurag Kashyap's short story, which is about the actor's ardent fan.

As part of the role, Amitabh will meet the star-struck fan who comes to visit him in Mumbai from Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. The short story will also have a song dedicated to the actor. "Bachchan will play a cameo in the film. There is a surprise in store for him where a flash mob of 60 Bachchans (artistes dressed and masked like Bachchan) will launch the song in front of his home," a spokesperson of the movie was quoted as saying by the Press Trust of India.

The movie's star cast includes Rani Mukherji, Randeep Hooda, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Sadashiv Amrapurkar. It is slated to release on 3 May.
