Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, who will soon be seen in "Shaandaar", are busy promoting for their film.

Alia's character in the film apparently has striking similarities with Kareena Kapoor Khan's famous role of Geet in "Jab We Met".

Kareena played a full-of-life Punjabi girl in Shahid starrer "Jab We Met", while in "Shaandaar" trailer, Alia is seen as an outspoken, fun loving girl.

Alia, who is a huge admirer of Kareena, denied any similarities and mentioned that nobody can play the role of Geet apart from Kareena herself.

"My character, Alia, is not at all like Geet. Alia is crazy, simple and sweet. She lives in her own imaginary world. There are no similarities. "I don't think anyone can try and play her. She is an iconic character, at least for me," said Alia, PTI reported.

However, Shahid feels that Alia can play the role as her energy matches with that of Kareena's character Geet. "But if anybody could play Geet in future or a character like her than it is you Alia because you are like her. Your energy matches to Geet," said Shahid.

This is not the first time Alia's on-screen character has been compared to the "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" actress. Her role in "Student of the Year" also had striking similarities with Kareena's character in "Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham".

"Shaandaar" will see Shahid and Alia play insomniacs. Directed by Vikas Bahl and co-produced by Phantom Films, Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Fox, "Shaandaar" is slated for a Dussehra release on 22 October.
