Vadodara, Feb 13 (ANI): Forest department in Vadodara city of Gujarat recovered 77 exotic turtles from a college student. Among the turtles recovered were endangered Star turtles and Singaporean Red Eared turtles. A case has been registered against Patel. A penalty of rupees 60,000 has been imposed on him. Saxena said the accused planned to smuggle the turtles in neighbouring Maharashtra state. Star turtles, which belong to 'very endangered species' category, are quite popular in exotic pet trade and are found in dry and scrub forests of India and neighbouring country Sri Lanka.
