New Delhi, May 21 (ANI): Supreme Court on Wednesday commuted death sentence of two convicts, held for attack on American Centre in Kolkata city in 2002, to life imprisonment. The attack took place in January 2002 in which five policemen on duty were killed. A senior lawyer, Debashish Bhowmik, said the court directed Mohammed Aftab Ahmed Ansari, one of the convicts, to serve life imprisonment and other convict Jamaluddin Nasir to remain in jail for 30 years without any remission. Ansari, Nasir and five others were given death sentence by a lower court in Kolkata nine years ago for their role in the attack.
