It has been over three months since the State Bank of India (SBI) Clerk Mains examination 2016 was conducted, but the results are yet to be declared, causing frustration among the candidates.

The bank usually declares the results two months after the written exam. It was earlier reported that the SBI Clerk Mains 2016 results would be announced in mid-August, but it didn't happen. Then reports started doing the rounds that the SBI would declare the results on September 30, but it announced only Probationary Officer (PO) finals exam results.

Frustration and anxiety of the aspirants is apparent with many having taken to social media to pour out their disappointment. Many have even tagged the bank's official Twitter handle, but the response they get is, "We request you to keep yourself updated with the Careers page on our website."

The state-run bank has said that the SBI Clerk Mains 2016 results have been delayed due to unavoidable circumstances and would be declared on the official website sbi.co.in in due course of time, but didn't reveal even the tentative date, continuing to keep the already frustrated candidates in dark.

The SBI conducted Clerk Mains examination on June 25 and 26 for those who passed the preliminary examinations. A total of 17,000 candidates will be recruited as clerks or junior associates (JA) and junior agricultural associates (JAA) in the bank.

It is not sure if the SBI will conduct interview for those who cleared mains as the government had in January scrapped the interview process for recruitment to Group D, C and B non-gazetted posts, but the bank is yet to officially announce the same.
