Santhanam
Santhanam is not part of PR Handout

Santhanam, who is busy doing lots of lead characters these days, is not accepting any role that could limit him to being a sidekick. In the process, he has missed out a lot of big-banner films where he was offered to play a comic role.

One big offer that Santhanam has turned down was with Ajith in his next film, which is currently referred to as "Thala 57." Speaking with the Times of India, the actor has confirmed that he got an offer to work in the forthcoming movie but he was not keen to take up the project.

"With Ajith's film, that is not likely to happen, though I do not want to say for sure that I will not be acting. Everybody wants to go to the next level. That is a natural instinct. Even today I can choose to be a comedian and earn a lot of money. I still get a lot of offers to play a comedian. But I'm no longer interested in being one. That's mainly because I want to satisfy my creative urges, " the daily quoted the actor as saying.

Santhanam started his acting career in television serials and was introduced to films by Silambarasan in "Manmadhan." In his successful career, he has acted in over 100 films in Kollywood. He has teamed up with almost all the big stars, like Rajinikanth, Ajith Kumar, Vijay, Suriya, Karthi and Vikram.

Currently, he is busy with the horror-comedy "Dhilluku Dhuddu" and Anand Balki's "Server Sundaram."

"Tamilselvanum Thaniyar Anjalum," "Idhu Namma Aalu" and "Nambiar" are his other projects, and in post-production.
