The most amazing thing about it's success is that it doesn't have any big publisher plus no social media promotions and no author fan followings. Still it is loved by all. Another rare thing with this collection is that to date it doesn't have a single negative review on any platform be it Amazon, Good reads, Librarything, Facebook, or any other blogs.
This success is credited to the sincerity,truthfulness and natural writing style The autobiographical writing in poetic form plunges into modern times, regrets, depression, and suicidal thoughts. Most of them are poetic reflections of personal emotions and situations the poet was laid in. The poems cover most issues in an ordinary modern human life specially heartbreaks from adolescence till now.
Mishra is an outsider artist and lecturer in English Literature and Political Science and also the art teacher at Kishlaya Outsider Art Academy. He has edited a collection of poems - Pearls (2002) before and was story mirror author of the year nominee-2019 and staff writer at various magazines.
Sandeep's father and sister are published writers. Now and then he would write a poem but never sent it anywhere. He didn't know read much and had no writer friends. He studied Hindi and English literature at school and at university and loved the poets he studied : Kalidas,Kabir, Mira Bai, Magh,G M Hopkins, Yeats, Keats, Tennyson, Shakespeare. He found they were in him in some way. He didn't have a model for publishing anything; though he had a few poems published in the school magazine. It was only when I was a graduate student that he started writing poems more seriously.
When asked about poetry,he says only those people write about themselves who are introvert or had been helpless to their situation. It is difficult to be true to yourself but I wrote as things were in my life. Why people are loving this book is because of its rare sincerity in theme and writing style. Originality always gets attention and wins the hearts. I have written what my mind and situation compelled me and how I experienced a particular thing in my life. I keep writing and painted my inner soul. I have used some paintings in the book.
Currently, he is working on another book called "The History of English Poetry" which is due to be published in early 2022. Maybe next year he may release another poetry collection.
