Here's some heartbreaking news for fans of popular television actress Sanaya Irani, who were eagerly waiting for her comeback show Meenu Mausi.

According to reports, Sanaya and Harshad Chopda's show has apparently been shelved for indefinite time. The show has been shelved as it was taking too long to go on floors and also because the channel didn't quite approve of the cast, which eventually led the makers to put a hold on the show.

"Although the team had shot the pilot recently but the channel did not quite approve of the casting leading to the makers withdrawing the show. As of now, Meenu Mausi has been shelved for an indefinite period, let's see if the makers and channel decide on reviving it," a source told Tellychakkar.com.

Surprisingly, the team of Meenu Mausi, which comprises of a stellar cast Hiten Tejwani, Chhavi Mittal, Sparsh Khanchandani, Avneet Kaur and Uzair Basar besides the lead pair, had already shot for the pilot episode.

Meenu Mausi had a usual storyline and was based on unmarried girl Meenu (played by Sanaya) who dedicates her life for the upbringing of her sister's children. On the course of her accidental parenthood, Meenu meets Harshad, who helps her deal with the kids and eventually the two fall in love with each other.

It was said that Meenu Mausi was the television adaptation of Aamir Khan-Juhi Chawla starrer Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke (1993). However, on the show, Sanaya would have played the role of Aamir, while Harshad would have essayed Juhi's character.

The show would have marked Sanaya's return to TV after her marriage with Mohit Sehgal in January. Sanaya became the audience's favourite with her role of Khushi in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? opposite Barun Sobti and the on-screen chemistry between the actors had won viewers' hearts.
