South Korean electronics giant Samsung unveiled on Thursday the world's first Android based mirror-less interchangeable lens camera Galaxy NX at the on-going 'SAMSUNG PREMIERE 2013 GALAXY & ATIV' event in London.
During the launch occasion, Senior Vice President and Head of the Digital Imaging Business, Samsung Electronics, Myoung Sup Han said, "The GALAXY NX reflects the unique needs of a user who needs to take professional photos and share them immediately in any situation. For those who want to express themselves and the exciting moments that make up their lives quickly, easily and on the go, the GALAXY NX is an ideal choice".
The new Galaxy NX camera comes with a 20.3-megapixel APS-C CMOS image sensor with Advanced Hybrid Auto Focus (AF), 1/6000 second shutter speed, 8.6 fps(frames per second) video shooting speed for capturing clear crisp images and films on the go. It also works under low-light environment.
Apart from its 1.6GHz quad-core processor, Galaxy NX also comes with a dedicated DRIMe IV Image Signal chipset to process the images. Another noteworthy feature is the True 3D Creator which lets user to shoot pictures and videos in 3-dimensional (must use separate lens mount-Samsung's 45 mm 2D/3D lens).
According to various reports, Samsung is expected to release Galaxy NX into select global markets in the third quarter. Details of its price are yet to be confirmed.
