It has been only a day since Samsung announced its 'Unpacked 5' event for 24 February. Now, the specifications of the company's next-generation flagship phone Galaxy S5 have surfaced online.
Russian tech enthusiast, Eldar Murtazin, has revealed that the forthcoming Samsung marquee phone would boast of a 5.25-inch AMOLED screen with 2K (2560x1440p) resolution having a pixel density of 560 ppi (pixels per inch). Inside, it would pack Exynos 6 or Snapdragon 805 chipset (depends on the market), 3GB RAM and a 16.0-megapixel main camera.
The only new details are 3.2-megapixel snapper on the front side and a high capacity 3200 mAh cell, which is quite believable, as it is certain to come in handy for high-resolution display, which is notorious for fast battery draining.
Most of the features revealed by Murtazin are pretty much the same, which are already circulating on the internet. But it has gained significance lately due to his accurate prediction of Samsung's upcoming event 'Unpacked 2014 Episode 1'. He is also credited for foretelling last year's flagship handset Galaxy S4 launch. So the features disclosed by the Russian blog writer might turn out to be true when Galaxy S5 is unveiled later this month.
Other specifications that are expected to feature in the Galaxy S5 are a metal case, a finger-print sensor for screen unlocking, smart gesture features like multi-hovering technology for enhancing 3D gaming experience (users can operate and play games on the phone without having to touch the screen. The sensors on the display have the ability to take note of the signals from the multiple hovering fingers movement), head-movement tracking feature to browse web pages and more.
Beside Galaxy S5, the South Korean company is also rumored to debut a new slimmer and feature-rich Galaxy Gear 2. This time, the new smart wristwatch is expected to support all android smartphones, unlike its predecessor which supported only a handful of Samsung handsets.
