Samsung is tight-lipped on its upcoming device, Galaxy Note 5, despite its release date drawing close, but leaks have revealed almost every detail, including key features and price.

The device is expected to come with several feature upgrades over its predecessor, Galaxy Note 4, but fans and gadget lovers will be more curious to know how it will stake up against its rival, iPhone 6 Plus, and possibly Apple's upcoming iPhone 6s Plus a few months from now.

The South Korean electronics giant is expected to unveil Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ at its "Unpacked 2015" on 13 August in New York. Galaxy Note devices are usually announced at the IFA event, but Samsung seems to have decided to launch early this time around to avoid clash with Apple's upcoming devices, iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

However, Galaxy Note 5 will have to take on iPhone 6 Plus before iPhone 6s Plus is launched in September.

Nothing about Galaxy Note 5 is confirmed as of now, but Reddit user by name joelrtaveras has revealed its dimension, claiming to have hands-on experience of the device.

"Comparing it to my iPhone 6+ the Note 5 was slightly thicker, but it was both shorter in height and narrower in width and featured much better weight distribution. (iPhone 6+ feels awkwardly top heavy in comparison)," wrote the Reddit user, adding that the Note 4 successor doesn't have a microSD card slot and comes with S-Pen that uses "a push to pop mechanism."

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is expected to feature an ejectable S-Pen and a glass-back. It is expected to have a 5.66-inch display with 560x1,440 pixels, Exynos 7420 SoC processor clocking at 4x2.1GHz+4x1.5GHz, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, 32GB internal memory, 4GB RAM, 16MP main camera, and 5MP secondary camera, according to Evan Blass (@evleaks).

However, Phone Arena has claimed citing listing on online retailer Jarir Bookstore from the Middle East that the upcoming device will weigh 169g, measure 7.6mm thick, and come in black and gold colours. It also reported that it will have features like a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with a 1,440x2,560 resolution and Gorilla Glass 4, Exynos 7422 SoC processor and octa-core CPU, Android 5.1 Lollipop, 32/64 GB internal memory with 128GB capacity microSD slot, 4GB RAM, 16MP main camera, 5MP secondary snapper, and 4,100mAh battery.

A report by Sogi (via GSM Arena) has claimed that Note 5 will come with a price tag of TWD 23,900 (approximately Rs 48220), but nothing is confirmed as of now.

On the other hand, iPhone 6 Plus has a 5.5-inch LED-backlit IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1,080x1,920 pixels (401ppi pixel density), powered by Apple A8 and runs on iOS 8, upgradable to iOS 8.4. It also has 16/64/128GB internal memory (no microSD card slot), 1GB RAM, 8MP main camera with optical image stabilisation, 1.2 front snapper and non-removable Li-Po 2,915mAh battery under the hoods.
