The fight of the titans is about to begin. Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and 5.5-inch model of Apple's iPhone 6 will take on each other at the market soon with both the devices set to be released in September.

Samsung Electronics have announced that it will hold its "Unpacked" event on 3 September, where its upcoming next-generation phablet, Galaxy Note 4 is expected to be announced. Apple Inc. hasn't revealed the exact unveiling date of its flagship device but it is most likely to happen on 9 September, as it has scheduled a media event on the day.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is expected to hit the stores on 15 September, while iPhone 6 might be released a few days after the unveiling event. It is going to be an interesting competition as Samsung has already made it big in phablet market with its Note series while Apple is entering the big screen category for the first time.

The South Korean electronics giant's next-generation device may sport a 5.7-inch 2560 x 1440 (515 ppi pixels density) Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen and come in either 16/32/64GB variants with 4GB RAM or 3GB RAM and microSD upto 128GB. It is expected to be powered by 2.5-GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor and run on Android 4.4.3 KitKat OS.

The device may have a16 MP camera with 3456x4608 pixel, optical image stabilisation, autofocus and duel-LED flash. In terms of connectivity, it may have a 4G LTE radio, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi direct, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, EDR, and LE.

The Korea Times reported that Samsung will release two models of Galaxy Note 4 - one with a curved OLED display and the other with a flat OLED display. According to a report by Galaxy Club, the S-Pen Stylus will be powered by ultrasound technology. It may also feature updated gestures and air command.

On the other hand, Apple Inc. may launch two models of iPhone 6 - 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch display - with sapphire crystal glass screen. The larger variant may feature a 2272×1280 (510 ppi pixel density) resolution, according to KDB Daewoo Securities. It is expected to be powered by a 20-nanometer A8 chip (64-bit) processor, run on the latest iOS 8 and come packed with 32/64/128 GB variants and 1GB RAM.

The device, which will mark Apple's entry into big screen handset, may have an 8MP camera with several upgrades, including flash and Optical Image Stabilization, and have a 2,500 mAh battery. Apple Insider reported citing analyst Ming-Chi Kuo that iPhone 6 may feature low temperature polysilicon in-cell touch panels, Touch ID fingerprint security, NFC and metal casing. Chinese analyst Sun Chang Xu also claimed that the device might feature sensors that can detect pressure, temperature and humidity.
