Samsung Inc is all powered up to launch its next big thing in the form of Galaxy Mega. The 6.3-inch smartphone is expected to give users a big screen experience and enviable portability option with an ultra-thin profile.

With its massive 6.3-inch HD Super Clear LCD screen, the mobile device is expected to bridge the gap between smartphones and tablets.

Kwon Jae Hoon, Managing director of Samsung Malaysia, at the launch event said, "There is so much potential in bigger screens to view multimedia extensively, browse the web, and more. We are very pleased to deliver a new addition that meets our consumers' ever-changing lifestyle needs while upholding the superior features of the award-winning Galaxy series."

The Galaxy Mega smartphone is now available in Samsung stores, Senheng and Celcom in Malaysia. The device is also released in the market at a recommended retail price of RM 1,599.

As Galaxy Mega is LTE enabled, it is presumed to deliver exceptional speedy browsing experience. The smartphone is enriched with new features like "Group Play" for sharing content with eight devices on the same Wi-Fi network. "Samsung WatchON" allows the device to function as an IR remote controller when connected to TV. Other features include "S Translator" which acts as text and voice recognition providing instant translation on applications like email, "ChatON" which allows screen sharing with friends and "Samsung Link" for streaming ( of photos, videos, notes or music) on television, tablet and computer.

Among its specifications are 1.7 GHz dual core processor, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS, 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera, 1.5 GB RAM, 3200 mAh Li-ion battery, 16GB internal memory with upto 64 GB microSD support.
