Samsung Announces 5 New Colour Variants of Flagship Galaxy S4

With reports of Samsung Galaxy S4 sales losing steam in the past few weeks, the company has announced five new colour variants of the flagships smartphone in a bid to boost shipments.

At the recently concluded 'SAMSUNG PREMIERE 2013 GALAXY & ATIV' event in London, the company unveiled five new Galaxy S4 colour variants - Blue Arctic, Purple Mirage, Red Aurora, Brown Autumn and Pink Twilight. With the addition of new models, the smartphone will now be available in seven colours including Black Mist and White Frost which was already launched in the market.    

However, the company did not reveal the date of availability of the new models, but reports are coming in that all colour variants may not be released globally. Availability is expected to vary based on region.

World smartphone leader Samsung is currently going through a rough phase in the business as it lost close to $20 billion in the stocks as a number of security and investment firms downgraded Galaxy 4 sales estimates up to 30 percent soon after South Korean securities firm Woori Investment & Securities cut its forecast of Samsung's earnings and target share price in June first week.

However, the company's mobile division Head, J K Shin, optimistically said, "S4 sales are solid. It's just that some analysts had higher expectations and then they lowered them,".  

Last month, Galaxy S4 sales had accounted for 10 million unit shipments within one month of its global release, surpassing the record held by its predecessor Galaxy S3, which took close to fifty days (one-and-half month) to reach this magic figure.

With the release of new colour variants and innovative marketing strategies such as zero-percent interest rate on EMI, cash-back offer and smartphone exchange schemes, Galaxy S4 sales are bound to surge in the coming days especially in India.
