The first song from Salman Khan's "Kick" was launched at a cinema hall in Mumbai on Friday.

"Jumme Ki Raat", a special song for the Eid festival, was unveiled on Friday as it is considered to be an auspicious day by Muslims. The song is a peppy number and features Salman and Jacqueline Fernandez performing the steps choreographed by Ahmed Khan.

Music director Himesh Reshammiya has composed the song and it is crooned by Mika Singh and Palak Muchhal.

"The song 'Jumme ki Raat' is a treat for all the fans of Salman. It is shot in the underground style on a very big scale. We have tried to give it the edgy and grungy feel. The entire team of the song has done a fabulous job of putting this together with interesting visuals," director Sajid Nadiadwala had earlier said in a statement.

"Jumma means Friday in Urdu, which is why the duo decided to host the launch on this particular day. Sajid (Nadiadwala, film-maker) and Salman chose this date for the big event so that his fans have at least a week to enjoy the song before Ramzan begins (the month of fasting starts on June 28)," an insider told the Hindustan Times.

"Kick" is one of the most eagerly-awaited films of 2014. It stars Salman as a thief named "The Devil" and the action comedy entertainer also has Randeep Hooda, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Saurabh Shukla, Mithun Chakraborty and Sanjai Mishra as part of the cast.

The film is all set to hit screens on 25 July for the long Eid weekend. The festival period has proved lucky for Salman, as some of his films released during the period have turned out to be big hits.

"Kick" will be the actor's second release of 2014 after "Jai Ho," which hit screens in January. "Jai Ho", a remake of Telugu film "Stalin", received mixed reviews from critics. However, the action drama managed to enter into the 100 crore club. As of now, "Jai Ho" remains the highest grosser of 2014. Whether "Kick" will break that record is something we need to wait and watch.

A lot is riding on "Kick" thanks to the presence of Salman, whose films have a huge following. The film's first look poster and the trailer, which were released on 15 June, have created a positive buzz among the actor's fans.

Going by the amazing response, "Kick" is sure to take fantastic openings on the first day of its release. It needs to be seen whether the film will be able to break records set by biggies like "Chennai Express", "Krrish 3" and "Dhoom 3." The Aamir Khan starrer is currently the highest grossing Bollywood film with more than ₹280 crore lifetime collections.
