Salman Khan's Sultan, the biggest blockbuster of 2016 so far, is all set to be premiered on television. The Ali Abbas Zafar film will be aired on Sony Max and Sony Max HD on October 15, 8.00 pm onwards.

The box office figures and glowing reviews are proof that Sultan is one of the most-loved films of the year and with its world television premiere, it will surely record impressive TRP ratings. But will it be able to surpass the numbers registered by the top three world television premieres of all time?

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo raked in 2, 51,19,000, Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2,37,45,000 and Baahubali 2,07,77,000.

However, Sultan will definitely overshadow the numbers posted by Housefull 3, Baaghi and Sanam Re, three of this year's top TRP earners. Housefull 3 garnered 78,16,000, Baaghi 69,88,000 and Sanam Re 56,66,000

Sultan is the story of an emotionally fractured sports champion whose life has fallen apart after his wife (Anushka Sharma) walks out of their marriage. It is a simple story that has been packaged with dramatic elements to suit the needs of a regular movie-goer.

Meanwhile, here's what Salman is working on next

He is currently shooting for Kabir Khan's Tubelight in Manali. In this film, the superstar will be seen playing a man with special needs. Chinese actress Zhu Zhu has been roped in to essay the role of the protagonist's love interest.

It is a social-drama partially based on the Indo-Sino war of 1962. Sohail Khan has been pulled on board to play Salman's onscreen brother. Expected to release on Eid 2017, Tubelight is Salman and Kabir's third film together after Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
