Salman Khan will reportedly launch a new wing of "Being Human" NGO for rehabilitation of slum and pavement dwellers.

As reported, Salman will announce the plan on his 50th birthday, which falls on 27 December.

"A sum of Rs 1 crore has been kept aside exclusively for the rehabilitation programme. The idea is to work towards providing housing facilities for slum and pavement dwellers," 9XE.com quoted a source as saying.

Salman was involved in the 2002 hit and run case, in which one person was killed and four others were injured.

The "Sultan" actor's car ran over a pavement near a bakery on 28 September, 2002. A sessions court first found Salman guilty and convicted him of five years of jail. However, the Bombay High Court recently acquitted the superstar of all charges.

Salman is currently busy prepping for his upcoming movie "Sultan", in which he will be seen as a wrestler. The actor has been doing intense workout and is also being trained in wrestling tactics.

Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the movie's first trailer will be launched on Salman's birthday.
