Salman Khan's "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" was partially sidelined at a recently-concluded award ceremony, but it has been picking up its share of accolades everywhere else. Amar Butala, Chief Operating Officer, Salman Khan Films, shared a photo of the Marketing Innovation Award for Social Media the film won at the DMA India Annual & Awards 2016, Wednesday.

The fans are celebrating, but they weren't too pleased when the film was almost ignored at the Filmfare Awards 2016 where "Bajirao Mastani" took home most of the trophies. Calling the event "fake" and "rigged", Khan's followers took to Twitter to express their anger over it. But now, they have a reason to smile.

While the marketing award is definitely a milestone achieved, this film has been doing some great things (box-office wise) ever since it hit screens last year. "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" is the only film to cross Rs 300 crore mark in 2015, and also the third highest grosser overseas earning $29 million.

While this is on, superstar Salman is busy shooting for upcoming action-drama "Sultan". Set to play a wrestler, Khan has put in immense efforts to look the part and underwent rigorous training sessions and was also on a strict diet.
