Salman Khan, who will ring in his 50th birthday on Sunday, 27 December, will be celebrating the special day at his farmhouse in Panvel.

While it is being speculated that the superstar, who was recently acquitted from all charges in the 2002 hit-and-run case, will celebrate his golden jubilee in a grand way, the latest reports suggest that the "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" actor will rather have a quiet birthday.

"We'll all be heading to Salman's farm house in Panvel (outskirts of Mumbai) for Salman's birthday on December 27 and then we'll stay on to bring in the New Year. There will be no extra celebration," a close friend of Salman told Deccan Chronicle.

The Khan family reportedly wants to keep the celebrations a low-key affair and avoid any attention as there is already a lot of negative reaction regarding the court's verdict in Salman's infamous hit-and-run case.

"The family has been advised to keep a low profile for a while," added another source.

Recently, it was also reported that Salman will be taking his family on a sea cruise on his special day.

At the work front, Salman is busy shooting for Yash Raj Films' "Sultan", which will see him play a 40-year-old wrestler.

The "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" actor is undergoing a strict physical regimen to get into the skin of the character and is being trained in mixed martial arts by Hollywood action director Larnell Stovall and his team.
