Two of Bollywood's biggest stars - Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, ended their infamous rivalry and hugged each other at an iftaar party hosted by Congress leader and Bandra MLA Baba Siddique at a five-star hotel in Mumbai on Sunday.

The friends-turned-foes were not in talking terms ever since they had a quarrel at Katirna Kaif's birthday party in 2008. In the last five years, the two actors have avoided being together at the same time. But on Sunday, they were present at MLA Baba Siddique's iftaar party. Shah Rukh was seated at a table with politicians including Maharashtra CM Prithviraj Chavan as well as Salmans Khan's father Salim Khan. Salman was seated at other table with his brother Sohail Khan. Unexpectedly, Salman got up from his place to greet the CM. Baba Siddique took him around the table introducing him to everybody. When they came near Shah Rukh, Baba tapped on his shoulder and said that Salman was there. The actor got up to greet him and Salman  took the initiative to hug his "Karan Arjun" costar.

The dignitaries in the room clapped and cheered at the sight of the two stars hugging each other. Salman and SRK then posed for the shutterbugs with the host.

Thrilled over the patch-up, Baba Siddiqui said, "It was nice to see the two of them greet each other at the Iftaar. They embraced each other and even shook hands. I hope they become friends for life now," according to the Times of India. 

The incident also triggered "#salmanhuggedsrk" to trend on Twitter. Here are some of messages posted on the micro-blogging site.
