Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has been embroiled in yet another legal case with charges slapped against the actor and the producers of reality show "Bigg Boss 7."

The FIR was filed based on the complaint of Mohammed Fasihuddin, a Hyderabad based businessman.

The complainant had moved the magistrate court to file a criminal case against them for demeaning and hurting sentiments of the Muslim community by airing the "Jannat and Jahannum" (Heaven and Hell) theme in the show.

"Jannat and Jahannum" are essentially Islamic terms and has its deep rooted connotation in the religion, which according to Fiashuddin's complaint has been trivialized in the format of the television reality show.

The actor and producers have been booked under section 295 (A) of Indian Penal code (Deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs.)

"We registered an FIR on December 13. We will have to investigate the case. We need to question the complainant and gather evidence before proceeding further," a police officer told PTI.

The FIR adds to Salman's existing legal woes and the Colors' show too faced yet another setback, after evicted contestant Sofia Hayat lodged a complaint against actor Armaan Kohli for physical assault and defamation.

Police had arrested Armaan based on the video footage of the show, but he was later granted bail. Sofia had also hinted that another complaint against the show makers might be filed for promoting violence.
