New Delhi, Aug 10 (ANI): Women in Assam make national flags of indigenous cloth, Khadi, which are ready to hit the markets increasing hopes of making profit after the government bans use of plastic materials. As Independence Day draws closer, the noise of sewing machines at the Assam Khadi Village and Industries Board in Guwahati gets louder with several women workers of the board making national flags made of Khadi. The workers are aware that Khadi flags are in demand in government offices as the sale of plastic flags has been banned. Workers said with the flags being made out of Khadi, the significance of the national flag has been reinforced.
