Bollywood actor Aamir Khan is leaving no stone unturned to help his elder son Junaid Khan's career take off. The actor is once again re-launching his son, attending his new releases, and calling Junaid a marvellous actor.
After the debacle of Loveyapa, Junaid will be seen in Ek Din, a love story that also marks actor Sai Pallavi's debut in Bollywood.
The special screening of Ek Din was held on Sunday in Mumbai, and the cast interacted with the media after the screening.
Several clips of Sai have gone viral that show her struggling to speak Hindi and even fumbling with words. Apart from that, Junaid being called out for makeup and an unbuttoned shirt, while Aamir Khan was crying after seeing his son, also sparked a wave of trolls, with users claiming he was faking it for publicity.
During the interaction, Sai spoke candidly about her experience at the musical gathering and the overwhelming emotions she felt being surrounded by talented artists.
Expressing her gratitude, she said, "I don't know what work I have done, but I felt happy that whatever I have done brings me to a room filled with people who are so talented, and I end up being so humbled. Aamir sir is crazy enough to be that emotional in public, but though I love my seats, I sometimes wish that the lights were dimmed so that I can, you know, be more emotional."
"You guys were unbelievable, every single person, you're all such beautiful narrators. I could see your emotions, I could see the visuals in front of me. It was absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for whatever has led you all the way here. God bless you and may you continue to do this and influence more lives and touch our souls," she added.
Sai credited her journey for bringing her into such inspiring creative spaces. She further opened up about her path in the industry, adding, "Sometimes I feel my journey in the industry, I don't know if I was somebody who would genuinely go to a theatre, go to a place where it's going to be a culmination of such talents, but whatever I've done has led me here and I'm so grateful for the whole journey."
Thanking Aamir for the opportunity, she said, "Thank you, Aamir sir, for putting me in a space like this, picking me to be part of this movie where I'm able to enjoy this, feel so much love. And every time you all spoke about love, I could see your face glow. This is going to be my first Hindi film. I'm actually quite nervous, but it's an absolutely beautiful journey. Thank you so much to the whole team. Junaid was an absolutely beautiful co-star, an obedient child, actually. He's so nice. I had a great time. Today I didn't prepare what I wanted to say, but please forgive me. There's a lot of love inside for you."
Sai even said that she isn't well-versed in Hindi at all. Needless to say, clips of her speaking in what many described as "broken Hindi" went viral, prompting a section of social media users to question if she was suited to play Goddess Sita.
If you do remember Amir Khan’s drama for his Waahiyat film #LaalSinghChadha. He was crying in each show of that film to get little publicity. And the film was a disaster. Now same drama he is doing for his son film #EkDin. He has already watched the film more than 50 times and… pic.twitter.com/IZ07pTIYZX

This has found her at the centre of an online debate after a recent public appearance reignited conversations around her casting as Sita in Ramayana.
Many even criticised Sai's voice and said Goddess Sita was the epitome of beauty, and her voice must not be like hers.

Well, if Sai's Hindi was slammed, actor Kamal R Khan, known for his controversial remarks, has taken a dig at Aamir Khan after a viral video surfaced online showing him breaking down in tears during the event. KRK called it "publicity" and compared it to Aamir's 2022 film Laal Singh Chaddha, alleging that the actor had indulged in similar "drama" during its release.
KRK Targets Aamir Khan Over Viral Emotional Video
Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) handle, KRK wrote, "If you do remember Aamir Khan's drama for his waahiyat film #LaalSinghChaddha. He was crying in each show of that film to get little publicity. And the film was a disaster. Now same drama he is doing for his son's film #EkDin. He has already watched the film more than 50 times and still, he was crying in the show for publicity. Even actress Sai was asking him: Why are you crying for such a waahiyat film?"
In another tweet, KRK stated that Aamir Khan is "brain dead" when it comes to filmmaking, claiming that the actor's six films as a "creative genius" were a disaster.
He wrote, "Aamir Khan's last 6 disaster films as a creative genius! #TOH #LSC #KoiJaaneNa #SecretSuperstar #SZP #Loveyappa! Aamir's last hit film was #Dangal in 2016. It means he hasn't given a hit in last 10 years. It means he is brain dead about filmmaking."
KRK also stated that Ek Din is an official remake of the English film One Day, but it is originally based on a Thai film. He further alleged that the film is a frame-to-frame and scene-to-scene copy, and accused Aamir of relying heavily on foreign film adaptations for his Hindi projects. KRK also remarked that despite this, Aamir calls himself a "genius filmmaker," adding that he should instead refer to himself as a "copy master."
Ek Din, starring Junaid and Sai, is a remake of the 2016 Thai film One Day and also marks her Hindi film debut, as she is primarily known for her work in Tamil and Telugu cinema. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on May 1, 2026.
