Liverpool have registered their first victory in the Europa League this season as they beat Russian side, Rubin Kazan on Thursday with the score reading 1-0. Jordon Ibe's second half goal, which helped Liverpool emerge triumphant, was the Englishman's first goal for the Reds as well.

Liverpool dominated the entire game, though, they only had one goal to show for their efforts, Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool manager, should be fairly happy with the way his players put their best feet forward in Russia. Liverpool could have finished with more goals as they came close, but were unlucky.

With this victory, Liverpool are in second place in Group B with six points while Swiss side, FC Sion, still stands atop of the group with eight points. Reds are gradually inching closer to the next round of the club competition and are looking better with every passing game.

Though Klopp rested players such as Philippe Coutinho and Martin Skrtel, the German started with Christian Benteke and Roberto Firmino, who came in for huge money during the summer.

Klopp had gone for a decent starting eleven against Kazan, which included a number of players, who started against Chelsea in their last EPl game. Klopp is not someone, who will take Europa League lightly.

Liverpool, who had huge possession in the first half, did create few chances but they lacked in front of goal. However, the visitors took lead in the 52nd minute with Ibe's brilliant goal and after which Liverpool began to pile pressure on Kazan, who only proved to be a threat in the latter moments of the second half and the Reds' defenders stood upto the challenge when required.

Liverpool will now face Bordeaux on 26 November at Anfield and a victory for the English side will more or less seal their spot for the next round of the Europa League.
