The Railway Recruitment Board declared the results of Non-Technical Popular Category (NTPC) examination 2016 on Wednesday, December 7. The RRB NTPC preliminary examination was conducted between March 3 and May 6 this year.
About 93 lakh candidates took the exam and as many as 2,73,780 candidates will qualify for the second stage of the examination and 18,252 will be finally recruited.
The second stage of the exam consists of 120 multiple-choice questions, which will aim to test the general awareness, arithmetic, general intelligence and reasoning skills of the candidate.
Qualified candidates will be recruited to several posts -- Commercial Apprentice (CA) - 703, Traffic Apprentice (TA) - 1645, Enquiry-cum-Reservation Clerk (ECRC) - 127, Goods Guard - 7591, Senior Clerk-cum-Typist - 869, Junior Accounts Assistant-cum-Typist (JAA) - 1205, Assistant Station Master (ASM) - 5942, Traffic Assistant – 166, and Senior Time Keeper – 4.
