Indian archer Atanu Das has finished fifth in the men's individual archery ranking round on Friday at the Rio 2016 Olympics. The 24-year-old archer from West Bengal has now progressed to the Round of 32 competition with ease.

Atanu remained impressive as he posted a total score of 683 over 12 rounds in the event at Sambodromo.

He picked up 58 points in the final round with scores of X, 10, 10, 10, 9 and 9 to successfully reach the fifth position among the male archers in the event. Atanu will be action again on Monday in the men's individual Round of 32.

Meanwhile, South Korean archer Kim Woojin not only stood first in the event but he also set a World and Olympic Record with a total score of 700, having scored 59 in the final round.
