Latest reports stating that Thalaivar Rajinikanth is undergoing treatment in the United States have turned out to be fake as sources close to the superstar have claimed that the "Robo 2.0" actor is currently holidaying in the country.

"@superstarrajini holidaying in US, will Tweet shortly, as there are crazy rumours regarding his health.Meanwhile #Kabali song teaser at 8pm [sic]," trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai tweeted. Thalaivar @superstarrajini is doing jus fine.. Will tweet shortly from USA [sic]," Ramesh tweeted.

The 65-year-old superstar, who had last tweeted on February 4, is expected to post his 30th tweet shortly to clarify his health condition through his social media page, on which he is followed by three million twitterati. Rumours had it that the superstar has been hospitalised, following which the audio launch event of his upcoming movie "Kabali" was cancelled.

Meanwhile, the "Neruppu Da" song teaser from the highly-anticipated movie will be released at 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 16. The teaser of the Rajinikanth-starrer, released on the YouTube channel of producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu, has become the most-watched Indian film teaser, with more than 22 million views. The Pa. Ranjith-directed movie is scheduled to hit the screens in July.

In another news, director Shankar, who recently unveiled the look of Rajinikanth's character Chitti from the upcoming thriller "Robo 2.0," has also revealed that 50 percent of the film's shooting has been completed. Rajinikanth will join the team after he returns from the U.S. The film, which also stars Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson, is expected to hit the screens in April 2017.
