French car-maker Renault has been writing success stories in India since the launch of its small hatchback Kwid in last September. The Kwid has received over 1.5 lakh bookings in the country and the entry-level car has also helped the company to increase the market share to 3.8 percent.

Now a report of Livemint states that encouraged by the success of the Kwid in the country, Renault is now looking to bring new models to India across all segments. Citing sources close to the development, the publication reports that Renault is looking to launch at least five new models in the country in the next three years. Renault, which sees India as one of the key markets, is also seriously considering new SUV models for the country as it is one of the segments growing rapidly.

According to the report, among the five models to be launched, the first model likely to come out of the blocks is Renault Megane sedan. The Megane sedan, which will be previewed at the Paris Motor Show in October, is expected to replace the Fluence sedan in India.

Renault is expected to bring the Megane sedan in 2017 and it will be followed by the launch of the premium SUV, the new generation Koleos. The new generation Koleos will rival Hyundai Santa Fe among other models in its segment and expect it to come to the Indian market by the end of 2017 or in early 2018.

The next in the line is likely to be a seven-seater crossover — Kaptur. The Kaptur will be pitted against Hyundai Creta. The other two models in the list of five are likely to be a van based on the CMF-platform as that of the Kwid and a compact SUV, which would rival the Vitara Brezza from the house of Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest car-maker. The compact SUV is likely to make its market entry in India in 2019.

Besides this, the company is also gearing for the launch of the new avatar of the existing models. Among them are also the much-awaited 1.0litre and the AMT avatars of the current hot-selling model of the company – the Kwid.
