A fresh batch of images of Renault's small car Kwid has hit the web, this time showing the base variant of the model.

Snapped by a Motoroids reader, the latest prototype of Kwid was seen donned in grey body paint and the images tell us that the entry level model of Kwid will lack features like side body cladding. The images show Kwid with normal black front bumper with the steel wheels.
Renault Kwid is expected to be launched in India during the festive season of this year, with the probable launch in September. Kwid, the small car (designed like an SUV) will take on the likes of Maruti Alto K10 and Hyundai Eon in India when launched.
The engine line-up of Kwid is expected to include 800 cc three-cylinder petrol mills that can dish out 57bhp power. As for transmission, Kwid is expected to get either a five-speed gearbox or AMT. Rumours are rife that Renault could also bring 1.0 litre petrol engine with both manual and automated manual transmission (AMT) options for Kwid.
Kwid will be priced in the range of Rs 3 lakh to Rs 4 lakh and is expected to pack features such as optional air bags, Media Nav multimedia and navigation system with Bluetooth connectivity.
