Sivakarthikeyan's Remo has emerged victorious at the Tamil Nadu box office. In its first week, the Kollywood movie has made a record-breaking collection.

As per the trade reports, Remo has minted around Rs 33.5 crore at the Tamil Nadu box office in its first week. It is said to be the best performance of Sivakarthikeyan in the first week. The experts say that the extended Dasara holiday played a major role in its success in terms of the collection.

Remo was released in over 400 screens in Tamil Nadu and was promoted well, which has benefited the film. On its first day, the Tamil movie earned Rs 6.3 crore to become the third biggest opener of 2016 after Rajinikanth's Kabali (Rs 21.5 crore) and Vijay's Theri (Rs 13.5 crore).

The Sivakarthikeyan-starrer ended its first weekend with around Rs 21 crore. Interestingly, the business did not see a dip as it earned about Rs 12 crore in the next four days. The trade experts are predicting that the movie will reach Rs 40-crore mark by the end of its second weekend.

Remo has won the hearts of family audience and youths. It has not only done well in Tamil Nadu, but also in the overseas centres like the US, Australia and Malaysia.

It is a romantic-comedy directed by Bhagyaraj Kannan and produced by RD Raja. The film has Anirudh Ravichander's music, PC Sreeram's cinematography and Ruben's editing. Keerthy Suresh is the female lead in the film, which has Sathish, KS Ravikumar, Saranya Ponvannan, Rajendran, Yogi Babu, Aadukalam Naren and others in supporting roles.
