Brittany Murphy, one of the finest actresses Hollywood ever had, breathed her last on 20 December, 2009. She was just 32 years when she died of "natural causes". It's been almost six years since her tragic death, but memories of her cheerful smiles still shine on through some of her fabulous performances in films like "8 Mile", "Don't Say a Word" and "Uptown Girls".

Apart from her films and career, Britanny was always in the news for her personal life. The actress began dating her "Just Married" co-star Ashton Kutcher in 2012 (who came to her funeral as well). She was then engaged to Joe Macaluso in December 2005, a production assistant she met while working on the film "Little Black Book". But they called it off in August 2006. In May 2007, she married British screenwriter Simon Monjack (husband at the time of her death) in a private Jewish ceremony in Los Angeles.

In 2014, Joe Menendez directed "The Brittany Murphy Story", a film that takes a look at Brittany Murphy's rise to Hollywood fame in the 1990s, her struggles with celebrityhood and self esteem, and her mysterious death in 2009.

On what would have been her 38th birthday, we decided to compile a list of some of the most emotional things Brittany Murphy ever said and some of her best films.

Here are the quotes:

It's easy to get wrapped up in sharing everyday life with a partner. It's fun to get lost in love and romance. It's the best. But holding on to yourself while doing that is the most important thing."

The older I get, the more I embrace my own idiosyncrasies."

I think the key to happiness is allowing ourselves to not feel bad or guilty for feeling it, and letting it be contagious. And to not be dependent on other people to create your own happiness."

I've always seen myself as one of those 'show people'. My earliest memories are wanting and needing to entertain people, like a gypsy traveller who goes from place to place, city to city, performing for audiences and reaching people."

You actually can make it, no matter what. I truly am a firm believer in that. Eminem's living proof."

I don't even take myself seriously, so how could I possibly take Hollywood seriously?"

It's always been my mom and I against the world."

Everybody has difficult years, but a lot of times the difficult years end up being the greatest years of your whole entire life, if you survive them."
